How Does it Stay On the Vehicle?

The California PopTop's patented fastening band runs across the windshield, under the outside mirrors and is pulled tightly in place around the vehicle by a draw cord attached to each rear corner of the cover.

The cords are typically placed in the gap on each side of the trunk and terminate with a hook and cord-locking mechanism. Simply pull the cords tightly, slip the hook under the trunk lid, then position the cord lock against the hook to fasten the California PopTop™ onto the vehicle.

How Does it React in the Wind?

As a result of the California PopTop's patented fastening band design, when additional tension is placed on the cover the fastening band gets tighter around the vehicle.

Since the wind may get under the cover when encountering strong wind gusts, the rear of the cover is designed to expand to vent the excess pressure, then settle back into its original shape when the gust subsides.

These design attributes have produced positive wind testing results and ensures the California PopTop™ will remain on your vehicle during typical wind conditions.

What is the Material?

The California PopTop™ is made of Tyvek®, a lightweight, high-tech fabric created by DuPont™ which provides superior protection from harmful environmental conditions.

Cleaning
DuPont's Tyvek® material is a non-woven fabric. It has no fibers to trap dirt, so you can hose it off or hand rinse. If using a washing machine, use a gentle cycle with a 1/4 cup detergent. Secure cords with a rubber band so they don't get tangled in the washer. Do not use bleach or a DRYER as it may damage the cover! Air dry only. Hang the cover up to let dry.
